Pekingese Ideal Weight Range
3.2–6.4 kg
Pekingese are both brachycephalic and chondrodystrophic, combining airway and spinal vulnerabilities in one breed. Excess body weight worsens breathing effort in their already restricted airway and adds direct load to a spine already predisposed to disc weakness. For a breed where both systems are structurally compromised, maintaining a lean body weight is one of the most meaningful things an owner can do.
Your dog is more than a breed average.
A generic range is just a starting point. FitFido uses your dog's unique breed characteristics, age, body type, and activity level to calculate their target weight and construct a custom plan that adjusts as you progress.
Please note that a dog's ideal weight depends on many individual factors, including height, bone structure, and overall body condition.
