Belgian Malinois are a high-drive working breed with exceptionally lean body composition. Their musculature means body weight alone is a poor guide to condition: a Malinois at the top of its healthy weight range can look very different from a sedentary dog at the same number. Tracking weight alongside activity gives a more complete picture of whether condition is being maintained.
