Welsh Corgi Ideal weight range
10–14 kg
Welsh Corgis are chondrodystrophic and predisposed to both disc weakness and degenerative myelopathy. Their low, long build already places the spine under chronic stress, and excess body weight increases that load directly. Pembroke Welsh Corgis in particular are among the chondrodystrophic breeds most commonly affected by Hansen type I disc disease, where weight management is one of the most practical preventive measures available.
Your dog is more than a breed average.
A generic range is just a starting point. FitFido uses your dog's unique breed characteristics, age, body type, and activity level to calculate their target weight and construct a custom plan that adjusts as you progress.
Please note that a dog's ideal weight depends on many individual factors, including height, bone structure, and overall body condition.
