FitFido - Your dog's whole health, down to a science

Yorkshire Terrier Ideal weight range

1.8–3.2 kg

Yorkshire Terriers are predisposed to protein-losing enteropathy, a condition where the intestinal wall fails to retain proteins, causing weight loss, decreased muscle mass, and fluid accumulation despite normal or increased appetite. They are also significantly overrepresented for portosystemic shunts and tracheal weakness, the latter of which worsens with excess body weight. Few small breeds have as many weight-sensitive conditions converging in one breed.

Your dog is more than a breed average.

A generic range is just a starting point. FitFido uses your dog's unique breed characteristics, age, body type, and activity level to calculate their target weight and construct a custom plan that adjusts as you progress.
