Collie Ideal Weight Range
40–75 lbs
Collies carry a high prevalence of the MDR1/ABCB1 gene mutation, which affects how their body processes certain drugs and also appears linked to lower baseline cortisol levels, creating a degree of adrenal sensitivity. This makes their metabolic response to stress or illness less predictable. Dogs on long-term medication such as cyclosporine require especially careful dosing in this breed, and having medication and weight in one place makes it easier to spot if something changes.
Your dog is more than a breed average.
A generic range is just a starting point. FitFido uses your dog's unique breed characteristics, age, body type, and activity level to calculate their target weight and construct a custom plan that adjusts as you progress.
Please note that a dog's ideal weight depends on many individual factors, including height, bone structure, and overall body condition.
