What FitFido Does

FitFido is a dog health and nutrition app that helps owners manage their pet's weight, feeding, and wellness. The app provides:

  • Weight & body condition tracking — Log your dog's weight and Body Condition Score (BCS 1–9) over time with interactive charts.
  • AI food label scanning — Use your phone camera to scan pet food labels; AI (Google Gemini) extracts nutritional data automatically.
  • Daily feeding allowances — Veterinary-grade calculations (RER/DER) tailor calorie needs to your dog's age, breed, and activity level. The app shows how many calories remain for meals and treats each day.
  • Multi-dog profiles — Manage multiple dogs with individual health histories and goals.
  • Subscription features — Premium features are managed via in-app purchase (RevenueCat, Apple App Store, Google Play Store).

Why We Request User Data

FitFido requests certain data to provide and secure the service. We explain below what we collect and why:

  • Sign in with Google / Sign in with Apple — We use these to create and secure your account. We receive your name, email address, and (for Google) profile picture. This lets us identify you, contact you about your account, and protect it from unauthorized access. We do not use this data for advertising. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email," we receive an anonymous relay address instead.
  • Camera & photo library — Used only to upload dog profile photos and to scan food labels for nutritional analysis. Scanned images are processed by AI to extract nutrition data and are not sold or used for advertising.
  • Pet & health data — Names, breeds, weight history, food intake, and nutritional goals you enter are stored so we can provide feeding calculations, trends, and personalized recommendations.
