Italian Greyhound Ideal Weight Range
8–11 lbs
Italian Greyhounds share the sighthound body type, with very low body fat and naturally lean muscle mass that makes standard body condition scoring less reliable than in other breeds. They are also prone to physiologic heart murmurs. Because their slight build means even small deviations from ideal weight are clinically meaningful, tracking against a sighthound-appropriate baseline gives a more accurate picture of condition than visual assessment alone.
Your dog is more than a breed average.
A generic range is just a starting point. FitFido uses your dog's unique breed characteristics, age, body type, and activity level to calculate their target weight and construct a custom plan that adjusts as you progress.
Please note that a dog's ideal weight depends on many individual factors, including height, bone structure, and overall body condition.
