Saint Bernard Ideal Weight Range
141–181 lbs
Saint Bernards are a deep-chested giant breed predisposed to gastric dilatation-volvulus and to ununited anconeal process, a developmental elbow condition causing joint pain and lameness from a young age. Excess body weight accelerates joint deterioration and increases the risk factors associated with gastric dilatation-volvulus. In a breed where growth rate and adult size are extreme, careful nutritional management and consistent weight tracking from puppyhood onwards are particularly valuable.
Your dog is more than a breed average.
A generic range is just a starting point. FitFido uses your dog's unique breed characteristics, age, body type, and activity level to calculate their target weight and construct a custom plan that adjusts as you progress.
Please note that a dog's ideal weight depends on many individual factors, including height, bone structure, and overall body condition.
